Which Dublin pub pours the best pint of Guinness? You could be paid to find out

If you'd like to spend a lovely few days sinking a creamy pint of "the black stuff" in a cosy Irish pub with the fire crackling and conversation flowing, you're in luck. An Irish travel blog is hiring a person to locate Dublin's best pint of Guinness by visiting some of the city's favourite pubs.

Pouring a pint of Guinness requires an experienced hand. The angle, the pause and the touch of theatre are essential to the process. Some say the glass counts. Others say it's all about the ambience. Then you'll have those who say it tastes better in winter or even better against a backdrop of music, live music. And maybe with a packet of cheese and onion crisps on the side (don't knock it until you've tried it). Whatever way you like it, chances are you'll find it in Dublin, which has been home to the velvety black stuff since 1759, and home to some of the best pubs in the world, renowned for their charm and chatter.

This winter, the Irish Road Trip (a travel blog) is hiring a person to visit some of these pubs to find the perfect pint that stands creamy head and shoulders above the rest. The successful applicant will visit each pub, order a pint, consume said pint, snap a photo and write a 250-word review. To set them off in the right direction, the Irish Road Trip has created a hit list of seven pubs that regularly feature in the long-running (and delicate) city-wide debate over which pub serves the best pint: the Gravediggers, the Long Hall, Mulligan's, the Strawberry Hall, Gaffney's, Tom Kennedy's and Toners. The Guinness taster will be paid €22 (US$24) per hour for their troubles and, of course, the cost of the review pint will be covered too.

To apply, you must have a way with words and prove it by writing a mini-review of a great pint of Guinness you've enjoyed recently. You also must be able to snap a high-quality photo on a camera or phone, be free to visit the seven pubs over a four-week period in November and early December and you must be over 18.
