Online gossip site, gawker.com, has given Pittsburgh the dubious award of having the ugliest accent in the United States, as voted by its readers. The site asked readers to pick the ugliest of 16 city accents. The Pittsburgh accent took first prize with 54% of the vote. Scranton, Atlanta and Philadelphia were other contenders.
