Polar bears observed freezing leftover food for later

Scientists from the Norwegian Polar Institute have discovered that polar bears have learned to freeze leftover food to eat at a later time. The researchers observed the behaviour on Svalbard, where a number of dolphins had fallen easy prey to the bears after becoming trapped by shifting ice. One bear was seen eating as much dolphin as possible before covering the remainder in snow. Read more: thelocal.no
