About Alex
Originally from the UK, I've lived in Hanoi, Vietnam since 2007. From the moment I arrived, I've loved exploring every corner of this amazing country, as well as its language and rich culture. In 2012, I founded the photo tour company Vietnam in Focus, and we've pioneered travel experiences throughout the country, from Hanoi Train Street to Ha Giang's rocky plateau. We've also led numerous adventures in remote areas of Vietnam, and our guests have included award-winning Nat Geo and FujiFilm Creators. My writing has appeared in the NY Times and LA Review, and I've collaborated on a couple of photography books about travel and social issues in Vietnam.
