Black Hawk State Historic Site

The site sits in an unspoiled, forested park offering 6 miles of trails that meander through ravines and ridges by the Rock River. Eagles sometimes swoop by. The rustic lodge on-site was built by the Civilian Conservation Corp and houses a museum about the Native Americans, including the Sauk and Meskwaki, who once lived in the region.
